The Hamda Taryam Foundation Gateway to Knowledge and Information Centre – Uganda

The Hamda Taryam Foundation is excited to announce the Gateway to Knowledge and Information Centre project in Uganda, a pivotal initiative aimed at empowering the next generation through education and access to resources. This project will establish a well-equipped library for secondary school students, enabling up to 1000 students to enhance their 'O' and 'A' level studies in both science and arts.

Key Objectives:

Promote Reading Culture:

By providing extensive library materials, we aim to foster a robust reading culture among young Ugandans, equipping them with the skills needed for academic success.

Technological Integration:

Incorporating technology and digital resources will enhance information literacy, ensuring that students are prepared for the demands of the modern world.

Resource Sharing:

The project will develop a platform for local libraries to share resources and advice, broadening access and fostering community collaboration.

Support Educators:

We will facilitate training and development for staff, ensuring that educators possess the latest skills and methods to support student development.

With the support of the National Planning Authority report highlighting the need for skills development to combat unemployment, this project is timely and crucial. Despite the creation of 1.6 million jobs between 2016 and 2021, Uganda is experiencing an increase in unemployment, particularly among its youth. By enhancing access to education and supporting skill development, the Hamda Taryam Foundation Gateway to Knowledge and Information Centre aims to empower young individuals towards financial independence and improved livelihoods.

The project is funded at a total cost of 255,000 AED, illustrating our commitment to sustainable educational development in areas where it is most needed. Join us in our mission to promote structured education and build a brighter future for Ugandan youth.
